An example of my 1/3 scale kimonos. Pattern is derived from a Smart Doll body and will fit any similarly sized dolls.
My kimonos and yukatas use generally the same pattern, with minor differences in general length and sleeve length and fabric choice. Most are a soft, worn cotton with metallic detailings and white muslin inside the collar: this particular kimono is a slightly heavier cotton (with an adorable print). Unlike traditional patterns, this one has an angled front to accommodate a tighter fit on larger busted dolls.
There are no fasteners beyond some velcro underneath the obi's bow. Easy on, easy off. All edges are surged for strength. All threads are light coloured due to the risk of thread-staining on vinyl dolls: depending on the fabric, a metallic topstitch may be used.
